New Peinerts available in the CRC fleet
Author Last Post

Greetings all,

Your PBC dues have paid for the new hulls in the CRC fleet as we rotate out older hulls.

Zephyr

This is a boat that is great for learning to scull. It also is a boat for the experienced sculler who might be reluctant to go out when the water is choppy in a single. It is stable like a Maas, just a bit shorter. It is 19' feet long and weighs 43 pounds. Like a Maas, you need two people to move this boat. This boat is suitable for all sizes of rowers, up to 240 pounds. Former PBC President, Cindy Cole, who runs a sculling school in Bladensburg, strongly recommended this hull. It has no shoes, but instead, a footboard with molded heels which hold your feet. A strap holds your feet in place. There are no shoes or clogs. This latest addition is located under the aqueduct in the upper rack of the two racks previously holding the Maas hulls. It is necessary for two people to carry the hull to and from the rack or water.

Cormorant

This is another Peinert, model 25 of their racing singles. It is for lightweight to midweight rowers, from 110 to 170 pounds. It has a pair of shoes appropriate for small to medium sized feet. It is 25 feet long; and weighs 30.5 pounds. This is the first bow mounted rigger in the CRC fleet. This boat is located in the quad/single aisle, second rack from the bottom, just inside the door, where the Peinerts are normally located.
