PBC's contractor, RowAmerica, is planning to install PBC new ramps and remove the old ones on Monday, February 27, and Tuesday, February 28. Accordingly, there will be no parking in front of or dock access at the Club from 6:30 am on Monday, February 27 until the job is completed. Please take a moment to read this note and understand the magnitude of this undertaking.
Right now the plan is for RowAmerica's tractor trailer to back down Water Street starting at 7:00 am on the morning of Monday, February 27. This will be in tandem with a crane delivery and the delivery of two dumpsters. PBC has also secured additional workspacefor this undertaking at the Canoe Club and Jacks Boathouse, and NPS permitting is being secured and NPS officials likely will be on site.
Due to the magnitude of the equipment involved, including tractor trailers, rented cranes, two dumpsters, there will be no parking at PBC as of 6:30 am on Monday, February 27, so do not park in front of the boathouse or you will be impeding the entire effort until your car is removed.
The current plan is to unload the cranes and ramps and then use PBC's parking area for demolition and staging. Ideally the ramps can be replaced in one day and demo will continue into day 2, but as this is a once in decades project and we need to anticipate possible delays for installation/construction/demolition wrinkles. We will as fast as safely and logistically possible, so please be understanding that some delays and inconvenience due to the magnitude of this project is unavoidable.
We will also be soliciting 15-20 volunteers for helping to move ramps on Monday. We need 15-20 people at 10:00 am for a few hours, and you can sign up https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409094AABAD2DA2F94-newramps.
Please be aware of the size of this undertaking and refrain from asking for deviations/rescheduling/indulgences, as this huge and expensive project is being coordinated broadly with many, many entities. We expect to be open for business as usual for the next few decades on Wednesday morning.
Best,
Nick
